Nekta
Nekta produces a range of upmarket cordials using good quality natural ingredients and old fashion techniques, but with a modern twist on flavours.
Ollo Design kept their upmarket, yet playful brand in mind when developing concepts for re-branding the company’s bottle labels. The client did not want to deviate too far away from their original branding, as there were already loyal customers and people were already familiar with the cordial.
For the concepts we were inspired by the deliciously mellifluous tones in the product and the meaning of the word Nekta (Greek Nektar – ‘drinks of the gods’), and developed a design that feels contemporary, vibrant, fresh and fun. That’s unique and stands out against their competitors.
The name Nekta is very personal to the owner, it’s an acronym of her and her sibling’s names or nicknames. It was important to incorporate that into the design, and for this reason we have capitalised all the letters in Nekta.
The hexagons implemented represent the shape of honeycombs, conveying the sweetness and fruitfulness of the flavours. Customised colours were created using the natural colours of each liquid, giving the logo a transparent effect.
The most predominant usage of the logo is on the standard bottle labels, as a result the logo not only had to be distinct but also needed to work well applied to other visual collaterals.
Once the original labels were finalised the Limited Edition Labels were produced for the special seasonal flavours. The labels needed to keep inline with the initial labels, yet elevated to have a more premium look.
The business card, stationery, and promotional items were produced down the track, and the brief was to keep these materials clean and simple.
To launch the new branding, Nekta and Ollo Design paired up on Instagram and Facebook to give away 2 sets of the limited edition flavours – Orange & Fennel Seed, and Cherry, to welcome in summer. The promotion was successful in promoting the special flavours, bringing brand awareness, and introducing the new branding.
