Able Australia
‘Forty years have passed since people with deafblindness were isolated in their dark and silent worlds. Forty years since the Department of Education considered people with deafblindness to be intellectually disabled and unable to be educated. And forty years have passed since a passionate group of parents met and founded the basis of what became The Deafblind Association.
Proudly, The Deafblind Association has created a pathway of learning and opportunity for children and adults with deafblindness to grow and experience life, and achieve their dreams.’
To commemorate this auspicious occasion a commemorative booklet celebrating 40 years of The DeafBlind Association, announcing the new name ‘Able Australia’ and new logo was produced. It was sent out to all their generous supporters. The commemorative booklet was A5 for easily mailing, the cover was matt cello glazed and the braille was embossed. Other collateral materials soon followed.
