Fish Packaging
To showcase our versatility and creativity, this was a fun activity where one animal had to be applied to three different design materials. The animal of choice was a goldfish. It was adapted to a Retail Bag, Swing Tags, and Fishnet Stocking Packaging.
Retail Bag – for a premium store called ‘Goldfish’ specialising in exclusive Japanese paper and stationery. The hero of the design is the goldfish, created using layers of textured paper and folded in certain areas to develop a 3D effect. The logo is printed in black on transparent stock and sits in its own window, creating a balance to the elaborate goldfish. The bag uses luxurious lightly textured cream stock, and a soft rope is selected for the handles. For cutting cost and mass production, the 3D goldfish would be photographed and printed directly onto the stock. Different options could also be used for the bag stock and handles.
The Fish Swing tags – were produced using die-cut coloured card stock. They would be hung on draws, shelving, or products using clear fishing lines. Prices can be handwritten using marker pen for a casual affect, or labels can be stuck on. Printing directly on the card stock is possible but would be more costly. They could potentially be used as business cards, store decorations, gift tags, or promotional materials as well.
Fishnet Stocking Packaging – the fish has been etched using Scratchboard and applied to the packaging. The front of the design reveals only the tail of the fish, to create intrigue. The body and head wraps around and is exposed at the back of the packaging.
